Our Street

The view out our back door! This is the road that went past E and F Dorms - the lamp post in the centre is the site where Steve Ingrey was one night tied to naked! It is in full view of the Duty NCO's room, but luckily he wasn't caught.

The Tower Again

Jimmy Brown is lowered from the tower, as Annie Brown, Alan Howard, Keith Jenkins, Tony francois and Matt Evison pass the time nearby. Note the solitary mat on the ground in case disaster should strike and the stretcher occupant falls from the tower!!

The Barracks

On the right is the end of F Dorm, on the left is the Duty NCO's office (in those barracks there were recreation rooms) and centre were the WAAF Barracks. The extra piece on the WAAF Barrack was the concrete Armoury.

The Oasis of Woodbourne

The Cafe, where we would socialise, eat, drink and also refresh at Joe Time after dehydrating on the Drill Square which was just over the hedge to the right. This is the back door, where we'd march up as a Flight for Joe.

This place served the best Fishburgers ever, and also the scrumptious Renwick Pies. Mmmmmmm

Military Chocolate

Here is an artifact that'll bring back GSTS memories. Cadbury's Military Chocolate.

This was like Energy Chocolate but it had the added ingredient of laxative, for the soldier in the field. These came in the Ration Packs, or 'Rat Packs'. Soon after R1/89 Cadburys discontinued the manufacture of Military Chocolate and Cadbury's Energy was used in Rat Packs instead. So this is a rear item now!
